Soprano Anna Bateman is noted as much for her stage presence as for her musicality. She is a dynamic and engaging performer who imbues warmth and charm into all of the music she sings. As a soloist, Anna has performed at some of Toronto’s most prestigious and popular musical venues such as Casa Loma’s “Symphony in the Garden” under the baton of Maestro Kerry Stratton where she sang to over 1000 people a solo concert of popular jazz standards. She has taken the concert stage with The Cambridge Symphony Orchestra, with Maestro Sabatino Vacca, and has been a soloist with Choral Works with Maestro Brian Rae, as well as a soloist with the Toronto Choral Society with Maestro Geoffrey Butler. Anna has been a guest artist at Soulpepper Theatre’s very popular and always sold out New York Cabaret Series with musical director Mike Ross. In the fall of 2014, Anna signed to the classical crossover vocal group called ViVA trio. ViVA trio recently released their debut album with Music Director Mark Camilleri who has been music director,arranger and conductor with such artists as The Tenors, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli and Il Divo. Anna has performed in over 20 fully staged operatic lead roles. Some of which include: Hannah Glawari, in The Merry Widow, Adele in Die Fledermaus, to critical acclaim from Opera Canada Magazine, Despina in Cosi fan Tutte, Clorinda in La Cenerentola, Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos, Amy in Little Women and Zerlina in Don Giovanni. Born in Toronto and raised in Victoria, BC, Anna is proud to call Canada her home and represents the true Canadian spirit everywhere she performs.
